The New York Times puts Croatian city of Dubrovnik among top holiday destinations in 2012In early January, New York Times has published the list of the top tourist destinations that readers should visit during 2012.
Among 45 places in the world, there are 16 European cities, including Croatian beauty - Dubrovnik.
They call it Saint Tropez Balkans, prais its beauty, Mediterranean cuisine and a wonderful sea: "It is a coastal city of marble streets, Renaissance fountains and white sandy beaches. Recently expanded airport, and renewed lift enabled better panoramic view of the city." When in Dubrovnik, we suggest you to take a ride on the reinstalled cable car that offers really breathtaking views!
The newspapers also note that the city was opened to tourists from Western countries five years ago, its offer is expanding day by day and the number of guests is growing 10 percent each year.
Besides praising the local cuisine, New York Times also recommends Gil's restaurant, Panorama and Lucin Kantun as places where you can taste special culinary delicacies. They also praise hotels Pucic Palace that dates to the 17th century, the Excelsior and Villa Dubrovnik.
