Description:

To encourage the birth-rate on the island of Mljet, the Mljet Borough Council will donate 5000 Kuna from the council budget to every newborn baby.

The only requirement is that the parents of the babies have permanent residence on the island.

Plus for pensioners on the island whose monthly pension is less than 1500 Kunas a month they have decided to give a cash incentive of 100 Kuna per month - presumably not for having babies!!
