Fish!!!

Is it possible to buy fresh fish in Dubrovnik? This may seem like a stupid question being that Dubrovnik is on the sea but I have been to Dubrovnik before and really didn't know where to go. I've booked to come back this year and would love to find out for this time! Do the fishermen sell to the general public and if so, where and when - do I have to get up at 5am?? Would love to know the anser to this as there is nothing better than a glass of wine on a summer evening while bbq'ing some fish on the terrace as I'm sure everyone will agree :).

Also, while I'm at it, does anyone know if it is possible to park at Gruz harbour for a few days? I know there is a car park there but I wasn't sure if I could park there while I go on a bit of island hopping for a few days and wouldn't want to be towed :)

Of course it is possible to buy fresh fish in Dubrovnik! You would need to visit Gruž neighborhood where fish market is located. If you come early enough(Saturday is best and from 07-10AM), you may even see the fishermen taking the nets filled with freshly caught fish out of their fishing boats. The choice of seafood is really great. As fresh as it gets fish offered here is just as good cooked, grilled, baked or wrapped in sushi rolls- the choice is yours! Beside the seafood there is no better place in town to buy organic grown fruits and vegetables, diverse homemade products or incredibly scented flowers from local women's gardens. A must for a truly local feeling. Regarding the parking near Dubrovnik port you can leave you’re car on 24h secured parking. The price 5 kn/hour and 50kn for the whole day!For additional information you can contact them at following web page: http://www.portauthority.hr/dubrovni.html
